So, after almost two full years of lying fallow, and my attention being sucked up by micro-blogging on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/marlin.may, and G+ https://plus.google.com/+MarlinMay/, I’ve finally combed the dead links out of Unconventionaut – https://unconventionaut.wordpress.com/ – my weblog and poured it into a WordPress template.
Now, I need to add new content.
Additionally I need to make sure that I don’t let that unfortunate attitudinal inversion happen again.
On February 6, 2010, Ron Yeany, Alfio Raymond and I traveled way out West (Westfield MA, that is) to attend PodCamp WesternMass 2. Ron and Alfio were were attending because of my regular raving about how incredible the first PCWM had been, not quite a year earlier.
It occurs to me that you might not know what a PodCamp is. Well, PodCamps are a type of unconference. But What’s An UnConference? An unconference is a facilitated, participant-driven conference centered around a theme or purpose. PodCamp is NOT just about podcasting, but about all social media/networking, and its relevance and usefulness to community, business and otherwise. This PodCamp was all about blogging, content management systems like WordPress and Drupal, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, podcasting, videocasting/YouTube, and many other online community tools.
I don’t ever think I’ve ever asked my few readers to link to my posts. Poor marketing, I know. I guess I’d make a bad ad man or politician.
So, if you like this blog, let Technorati know and fave me, by clicking the following button.
Oh, and if you like one of my posts, and you have a blog yourself, please link to it. Thanks.
Come on in! How do you like the new digs?
So, after all of the sturm and drang of the last entry, where do I go on from here?
Well, I realize how much of a mistake it was for me to have not immediately pursued a Ph.D. but that is water years under the bridge. Just as true is the fact that it will be years before I get to take up that particular kind of study again. But the time for that will come, mark my words, it will come. In the mean time, I have other things to do.
Welcome to my (perhaps) brief foray into webloggage. What have you stumbled upon? Well, next week I’ll be driving to Toronto for Torcon 3, the 61st World Science Fiction Convention. I’ll be armed with a digital camera, a laptop, a few Wi-Fi connections, Caffeine, and an Acura Integra. You’re invited. Please come along with me for the ride.
